Omnilux md clear-U™ for Acne and Actinic Keratosis

Omnilux md clear-U™ has been developed from an FDA cleared medical device that has been used by dermatologists worldwide for the successful treatment of acne.

What is clear-U?

Omnilux md clear-U uses light technology in the form of light emitting diodes to:

• Destroy the bacteria responsible for acne
• Stimulate healthy tissue growth
• Decrease inflammation and pore size
• Limit oil production in the future

When should I use clear-U?

Use Omnilux md clear-U at the first sign of an acne breakout. The treatment program consists of 8 treatment sessions spread over 4 weeks, 2 treatments a week. Use the blue light on the first treatment session; wait 2 days, then use the red light. Repeat this for the next 3 weeks.

How does the treatment work?

One of the key bacteria responsible for acne is Propioni bacterium acnes (Pacnes). This bacteria produces natural chemicals called porphyrins, which are sensitive to light at specific wavelengths. When your skin is flooded with blue and red light, the bacteria self destructs and inflammation is decreased. Your acne fades and your skin heals. It's as simple as that!

What results can be expected from a series of treatments?

Best results will be seen between 4-8 weeks after treatment ends. The light stimulates natural processes that occur after the treatment has stopped. Studies have shown complete clearance of lesions, however, on average you should expect 7 out of 10 acne lesions to clear.

How many treatments will I need?

The course of treatments is 2x20 minute treatments per week for 4 weeks of alternating blue and red light. However, because the light will not damage your skin, there is no limit on the number of treatments you can have.

How long do the results last?

For most people, their acne is clear for six months. In some cases, follow-up treatments (typically 2 to 4 treatments) may be necessary.

Is clear-U all I need for my acne?

Omnilux md clear-U is not a substitute for good skin hygiene or a doctor's care. We suggest that the light therapy is used in conjunction with a preparation containing salicylic acid. Your skin specialist can discuss this combination treatment with you.

Is clear-U safe and painless?

Yes. Subjects in our clinical trials have reported some skin redness after the first 1-2 treatments, but this is only temporary and will fade. No other adverse side effects were reported.
